What areas are exceptions to this?
If you live in these areas in Missouri, you may be responsible for the bill but it is not in your name...
- Florissant or Ferguson,
- Up&Up is required to have trash in the landlord's name but will bill the tenant back (no processing fee)
- Any homes using Metropolitan Sewer District,
- The Sewer Account must stay in Up&Ups name but the tenant is still expected to pay the bill by mail or phone.
- You can set up paper bills in the mail.
- You may need to contact us for specific account information.

If you live in North Carolina, Up&Up cannot pay any bills on behalf of the tenant...
- All tenants MUST be responsible for all utilities, in case of unpaid bills the provider will likely disconnect your service.
If you live in a community with a Home Owners' Association...
- Some HOAs pay for trash services. We recommend asking your city or HOA directly.
- Ex. Locust Grove, GA. - some homes located IN Locust Grove may be on the outskirts of this coverage and you'll need to find your own trash service, please call the city directly.

You can find the actual bills from utility providers by clicking view. Please note:
- If you've missed a payment, Up&Up has already paid these directly to the provider to keep your service on.
- If Up&Up is responsible for them, Up&Up uploads and charges back these bills as we receive them from our 3rd party utility manager.
Why am I being charged an Utility Processing Fee by Up&Up?

If Up&Up pays a utility bill that should fall under the tenant's responsibility, a $7.34 processing fee (as of April 2024) will be added to the bill due to our 3rd party utility provider.

Common examples:
- You live in a Metropolitan Sewer District area and the account must stay in Up&Up's name but the tenant is expected to pay by paper mail. You do not arrange this and Up&Up is billed for the sewer by MSD. You will be charged the processing fee.
