Up&Up will be switching from Stripe to Buildium for your monthly rent payments.
If you're an existing tenant, an email will be sent to you on your expected cutover date.
Switching to a new payment system can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to make the process as smooth as possible. Follow these simple steps to set up your rent payments in Buildium and avoid any interruptions.

Step 1: Find your welcome email
The subject line will be "[Action Required] Welcome to your new Resident Center with Up&Up!" from donotreply@managebuilding.com.
In the email, click activate account. Follow the steps provided.
Step 2: Visit the Resident Center
View your new resident center! Click "Make Payment."
Step 3: Enter your payment information
Choose your payment method. Reminder: Bank account (ACH) transactions have no fees, payments made by credit/debit are subject to processing fees.
Step 4: Set Up Auto-Pay
If you want to ensure your rent is paid automatically each month:

Toggle Auto-Pay On in the payment settings.

Select the date you want the payment to be deducted each month.

Confirm your settings and save changes.
🚨 Important: If you had auto-pay set up in Stripe, you MUST enable it again in Buildium.
Step 5: Confirm Your Payment Setup

Review all details to ensure accuracy.

Click Save Payment Method.

You will receive a confirmation email once your payment method has been successfully added.
Q: Should I still use the Up&Up app to make payments?
A: No. We recommend going to the online portal at https://app.upandup.co/account/payments, it will take you to the Buildium portal.
Q: Will my Stripe auto-pay transfer to Buildium automatically?
A: No. You must manually set up auto-pay in Buildium before your specific due date.
Q: Are there any fees for payments?
A: ACH (bank transfers) are free, but credit and debit card payments will have processing fees.
Q: Can I make partial payments?
A: Yes, you can initiate partial payments until the 15th of the month.
Q: What if I forget to switch before my end date?
A: Your rent payment may not go through, leading to potential late fees. We strongly recommend setting up Buildium payments ASAP.
Q: Will I receive a receipt?
A: Yes, you'll receive a receipt from Buildium just like you did with stripe.
Q: What services does Up&Up use from Buildium?
A: Up&Up only uses the payment feature in Buildium for our tenants.
Buildium has optional services for tenants maintenance requests, credit monitoring, and renter's insurance. Up&Up does not offer these at this time.
